Raised Bed & Garden Builds in Emerald Isle, NC

Gardening on Bogue Banks

Emerald Isle is a barrier island, and the soil is just what you would expect: almost pure sand. Water runs straight through it, and there is very little for plants to feed on. Add salt spray, steady wind, and strong summer sun, and an in-ground garden has a hard time.

A raised bed filled with a good soil mix changes the picture, and we can add the soil for you. We place beds on the sheltered side of the house or behind a fence or a row of shrubs, and we often suggest a simple drip line so plants get steady water without you dragging a hose. Herbs like rosemary and thyme, peppers, and many flowers do well here with a little shelter.

Second homes and rentals

Many Emerald Isle homes sit empty for part of the week or are rented out. If that is you, tell us. We can plan a garden that tolerates a few days without attention, with drip watering, tough plants, and sturdy beds that hold up to guests and storms.

Neighborhood and dune notes

Many Emerald Isle neighborhoods have a POA with rules about structures and landscaping. The town also protects its dunes, so we keep every build well away from dune plants and the dune itself. If your lot has an association, share the rules with us and we will design around them.

How we serve Emerald Isle

We come over the bridge from our base in Stella for a free site visit. We look at the sun, the wind, and where water drains, then talk through what you want to grow. Setup is the service: we build it, and can fill and plant it too. Seasonal care visits are a separate add-on if you want them.
