Raised Bed & Garden Builds in Beaufort, NC
We build raised bed gardens for Beaufort homeowners, from the historic streets near the waterfront to the neighborhoods out toward the edge of town — and we can fill and plant them too.
Gardening in Beaufort
Beaufort is one of the oldest towns in North Carolina, and many of its homes sit on small, old lots with mature trees, brick walks, and picket fences. Near Taylor’s Creek and the water, yards get salty, humid air and steady breezes. The soil is sandy in most places, and older yards can have buried brick, shell, or roots just under the surface.
A raised bed sidesteps all of that. You can have clean, rich soil (we can add it for you) without digging up whatever is underneath, and the garden sits neatly in place, which suits the look of an older yard.
Historic district notes
If your home is in Beaufort’s historic district, check with the town before adding anything that can be seen from the street. Fences, arbors, and other structures may need approval. Low raised beds in a backyard are usually simple, and we are glad to keep the design modest and in keeping with the neighborhood. Outside the district, some newer subdivisions have their own HOA rules, and we will work within those too.
Sun and space
Big old trees mean shade, so we check how the sun moves across your yard before we pick a spot. In a small yard, a single well-placed bed with a trellis can grow more than you might think.
How we serve Beaufort
We come out from our base in Stella for a free site visit. We look at the sun, the space, and any rules that apply, and talk about what you want to grow. Then we build it, and can fill and plant it too. Ongoing care is not part of the build; seasonal visits are a separate add-on.
